A little bit dress up, a little bit of green magic…

Part 2: Boiling the Bones with Baba Yaga

Play date with Baba Yaga
I thought I’d get some extra street cred with the Baba by doing an extra task before I started on her list. So first I did her washing. Mighty frosty this morning but hanging that washing to flutter in the wind sure did feel good.

Baba had also invited another friend to join us. Skylark had become kind of soul thin lately and needed to get over her SADS. Baba wanted to feed her up on some marrow bones. Baba whisked through the air in her mortar and pestle, sweeping the sky clear behind her with her silver birch broom. Baba picked up Skylark and bought her along to the entrance of her place.

First we had some nourishment. Boiling the bones is Baba’s favourite way to juice up. Skylark visibly plumped with all that marrow.

Then Skylark and I set to work, cheerfully and mind fully, just the way Baba likes it.

Task One: Rake up ALL the leaves! Definitely didn’t miss a one!

Task Two 2. Light the cauldron and throw in some offerings. (Tasty Chill’n is Baba’s favourite morsel)

Task Three: Hot stuff in the Compost. Phew those chill’ns bones stink.

All the Baba Tasks done, and Skylark and me feeling grand. Home home Home. Just the lingering smell of shin bone to contend with.

Green Blessings.
